lyrics

out in the darkness I saw the light
I could see that the sky was cloudy and those hills are still out of sight
a wolf howled in the distance as I made my way down the path
the howling had gotten louder and before long I saw the pack

in the light of the morning sun I saw their breath in the air
I sat down and hummed a tune - a song by Sonny & Cher

by a river I am walking along, the hills are just a mile ahead
I will get their right before the dusk if I can make it there before I'm dead
with three hawks circling above me I set up my camp at sundown
and I prayed out loud for my life but there were no souls around

in the light of the glowing moon I was taken by the night
my bones will rest here forever and I will start a new life
